Today, MATTA boasts over 2,900 member organizations, and this number is increasing, including local tourism organizations as well as numerous overseas branches. It serves as the national representative body for the entire tourism industry in the country.
The goal of MATTA is to promote the interests of the travel and tour industry in Malaysia. MATTA works closely with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture of Malaysia, as well as the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board, helping to organize fairs, seminars, conferences, and workshops to raise public awareness about the tourism industry and to benefit its members.
