From August 20 to 27, 2025, Uzbekistan will host a significant international event dedicated to the development of ecological, adventure, and extreme tourism — the autotour "Visit to Aral." This event is organized by the Ministry of Ecology, the Committee for Tourism, the Federation of Extreme and Mountain Tourism of Uzbekistan, in collaboration with SamAvto, Tegeta Motors, and several other organizations.
The project's goal is to draw the attention of tourists from both Uzbekistan and abroad to the Aral Sea region, as well as to create new tourist routes while introducing a wide audience to the mesmerizing natural landscapes, historical landmarks, and cultural treasures of this unique area.
Around 30 SUVs, with over 80 participants including representatives from Russia, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan, set off on an unforgettable journey from Tashkent. The route proved to be promising and intriguing, passing through the ancient cities of Samarkand and Bukhara, encompassing the mysterious Aral Sea region, the historic city of Khiva, and the youngest city of Uzbekistan — Navoi, before finally returning to the capital of Uzbekistan.
The main activities included visits to the tourist attractions in the city of Nukus. A highlight of the event was a quest program at the Savitsky Museum, where participants had the opportunity to test their knowledge of history and art.
A vibrant motor parade along the city’s ring road became a symbol of unity for all project participants and added a dynamic atmosphere to the event.
The cultural program extended beyond visits to the stunning museum and an introduction to the traditions of the Karakalpak people. On the "Dustlik" waterfront in Nukus, as part of the international road trip "Visit to Aral", a concert performance by the popular band "Ko'k Choy" captivated the audience with its unique compositions.
The participants then traveled to the Muynak district of Karakalpakstan, where they visited the legendary "ship graveyard", which has become a symbol of the lost grandeur of the Aral Sea.
A tent camp was set up on the shores of the Aral Sea to welcome the convoy of project participants. The breathtaking landscapes of Ustyurt, paddleboarding in the waters of this unique sea, and dining in nature created an unforgettable atmosphere. The vibrant day concluded with an energetic DJ set that filled the shores of the Aral Sea with music and joy under a sky adorned with bright stars!
The participants of the car rally also headed to an extraordinary natural site in Karakalpakstan — the dried-up Lake Barsakelmes, located on the picturesque Ustyurt plateau. Here, they had the opportunity to admire the stunning landscapes and experience the unique atmosphere of this remarkable destination.
The "Visit to Aral" project is an important step in developing new avenues for auto tourism and opens up prospects for transforming the Aral Sea region into a key center for extreme tourism on the global map.
Throughout the road trip, the participants shared their impressions and recommendations with the public in real time through media outlets and social networks. It is expected that this rally will be a significant step toward strengthening international cooperation through tourism and creating a positive image of the Aral region in the global community.
