Nationwide harvest festival
Harvest festival is one of the largest cultural and entertainment events in Karakalpakstan. Here you can see traditional games – "tug-of-war" competition, sheep fights, cock-fights, national horse competitions - “Ilak oyin”, “Kiz kuu” (Bride theft), “Tenge alu” (coin catching), sport competitions, exhibitions of traditional handicraftsmen, concert program, folklore and national dances, varied gastronomy, mass festivity, award ceremony as well as many other spectacles. In order to see all of these, you will need to visit our capital – Nukus in December.
